Over the last 3 decades, we’ve spent over 20 Christmas holidays in the Baja…1979 was our first one…lots of time spent camping, exploring, surfing, windsurfing, looking at stars, watching the sun rise, and the sun set…just generally chillin’…
Ever since we bought some property in Baja Sur during the 90′s, we usually skip the Christmas hullabaloo down there during these 3 weeks and hit it up after the rush…lots of people have caught on and most of the spots that used to be empty and wide open are now packed…but, I’m sure if you look hard enough…and, use the 4X4 you can still find what you are looking for…;-)
Over the years traveling around I’ve taken over 50,000 slides…and, shot 100′s of hours of video tape…always fun when I find the time to go through the archives…almost all of the surfing and windsurfing action during this time period was captured on Hi 8mm video tape…I’m slowly digitizing some of the edited footage from our annual movie presentations…

Deb ripping a high speed jibe at La Ventana Bay…

No phones…no TV…no internet…just toss a “magic rock” (copper nugget) in the fire…and, talkin’ story…we’ve banked enough adventure stories to write several books…;-)

The smell of desert vegetation…

The sound of one hand clapping…

Deb cooking up some fresh seafood…

Yummy Christmas colors…
