NEW SIZES AND COLORS NOW IN STOCK…click image below for more info…

Unlike the majority of crappy, generic, cheap toy looking, no-name brands with no history in the sport boards making their way into the marketplace…we’ve been involved in standup paddling since 2005 and our boards have been designed, tested, and the master shapes refined by hands here in the US with over 4 decades of shaping experience before going into production…

All production boards have Australian Pine decks ($1299)…Australian Pine bottoms are optional ($1399)…USA handcrafted FeatherLite carbon models also available…
Boards include our non-H20 absorbing iconic logo pad, bamboo fins, and high quality leash with safety quick disconnect…we also include one of our high quality iconic logo t-shirts…no sales tax is charged outside California which helps out towards your freight charge…all boards are professionally double boxed and our shipper is rated #1 for speed and safety…
All boards are also available in custom carbon or custom airbrushed epoxy…handcrafted in the USA by Art Colyer…a world class shaper that we work with, that has 4 decades of board shaping experience under his belt…

Boards come with iconic logo pad…non-H20 absorbing…GoreTex air valve…our custom bamboo fin designs…and, big wave rated leash with safety quick disconnect…
Also, available are our color matched SUP paddles…

Our board designs are stable all around wave riders that glide as well as they surf…the master shapes were developed by a collaboration between us and world class shaper, Art Colyer, after a number of iterations and tweaks…we’ve refined the rockers to provide great glide through the water…and, added concave in the nose that transitions to double barrel vee off the tail allowing for optimum maneuverability in the surf…constructed with the highest quality Australian Pine available, they are also the nicest looking boards on the market…better glide…better tracking…better surfing…better looking…and, better priced than any board in it’s class…
WHAT’S OUR SECRET?
We have sold thousands of boards at our shop and know what works…what doesn’t…and, why…after working with some of the biggest board companies in the world on their board lines…the end result is that the best design elements are incorporated into our boards and fins to give you performance and value that will last a lifetime…
Our boards look as good as they ride…QUALITY priced $100′s less than the competition…

WD Wide :: 8’10″ X 32″ X 4.6″ ~ 150 LITERS
The WD Wide 8’10″ quad + 1, influenced Starboard to develop the best selling Wide Point Series…a hot dog SUP for ripping 2′-10′ surf…phenomenal stability and glide for an under 9′ SUP…very airline friendly for travel…also available in a 9’2″ x 32″ wide version with ~ 165 liters of volume…
STOKE :: 9’6″ X 30.5″ X 4.4″ ~ 150 LITERS
The Stoke is a refined wave rider with great glide and stability. The quad + 1 fin box setup allows the rider to dial into whatever the conditions throw out…also, popular with our wahine clients who want a smaller board that is stable…glides well…and, is not too big…also available in a 32″ wide version called the “Stoke Wide”, with ~ 162 liters of volume…
MAHALO :: 10’3″ X 29.5″ X 4.3″ ~ 165 LITERS
The Mahalo is a refined wave rider with great glide and stability. The two +1 fin box setup allows the rider to dial into waves or all water cruising/touring…phenomenal glide for it’s size, this board is used as a big wave gun as well as a flatwater cruiser…the pulled in nose reduces exposed surface area to chop and wind…also, very popular with our wahine clients who want a mid-sized board that is stable…glides well…and, is still maneuverable…also available in a 31″ wide version called the “Mahalo Wide” with ~ 175 liters of volume…option : FeatherLite carbon Mahalo…
ONE WORLD :: 11”1″ X 30″ X 4.5″ ~ 180 LITERS
The name says it all…one board that anyone can ride anywhere in the world…the truest execution of an all waters SUP…GPS testing shows that our “One World” is faster than some company’s canoe nose 12’6″ models…;-)
The One World is a very refined soulful, longboard style wave rider with greater glide and stability than a number of 12’6″ canoe nose SUP’s on the market…the reduced swing weight in the nose allows the One World to be more maneuverable and surf smaller than it’s size…it also reduces unnecessary surface to catch wind and chop…
A surfing glider or a gliding surfer…you choose…maximum versatility…functional minimalism…ONE BOARD…ONE WORLD…
The two +1 fin box setup allows the rider to dial into waves or all water cruising/touring…the One World also possesses phenomenal glide for it’s size, it is being used as a flatwater cruiser all over the planet…the pulled in nose reduces exposed surface area to chop and wind…also, makes it easier to punch out through the waves…should you find them on your venture up or down the coast…also available in a 32″ wide version called the “One World Wide”, with ~ 200 liters of volume…option: FeatherLite carbon “One World”…
We have a number of other models available…including, breakthrough design innovations like the Jammer…15 lbs…strong, bright, and light…stock dims on the Jammer are 8’6″ x 31″ x 4.5″ @ 138 liters…but, we can make it bigger or smaller for rider weight, ability, and conditions…the Orca…and, the new deep 9’4″ x 31″ 6 channel “Groove“…again, any of these boards can be made custom tailored to your specifications…

ABOUT::
These boards feature highly refined rocker, rail, and bottom profiles…the result of my latest collaboration with master shaper, Art Colyer…
These board designs are the culmination of dozens of iterations starting in 2005, working with Sean Ordonez (Maui) when we produced the world’s first commercially available production epoxy standup paddleboards…the legendary “Big Red” and “Big Blue”…
Within our first year of production, these board shapes were stolen and started being knocked off by slimy get rich quick schemers…it was a total buzzkill for Sean and myself…as it had happened several times with a number of his sailboard, kiteboard, and tow board shapes…so he retreated to his shaping room to concentrate purely on his surfboard shapes…now some of the hottest and most sought after on the planet…and, also customs for his stoked clients in the know…
In 2007, I finally convinced my surfboard shaper, Joe Blair, to start making standups patterned after my quadfin surfboards…we started with a 10’1″…which he still produces…after a dozen iterations, we worked the 9’10″ model into a 9’7″ model in my favorite aqua color…which I convinced Joe to vacuum bag to increase durability…he eventually went to overseas production on several of these shapes…
We offered design advice to Jimmy Lewis, Starboard, and Naish during this period as the bigger production companies were starting to see the potential of standup beyond a fringe fad…
Also in 2007, I started working with master shaper, Bill Foote (Maui), on a couple of SUP’s for US mainland conditions…the colorful 11′ x 30″ and the 9’10″ x 29.5″ models…
We started working with Joe Bark in 2008 on trying to produce stable racing SUP’s…
while also fully working with the Starboard Team on their rapidly expanding involvement in SUP…which culminated this year (2011) when my popular Wide Point designs were introduced to the world as production boards…

My current collaboration with Art Colyer has also yielded the exciting new “Jammer” design…
Our new board line also features several of my fin designs…first introduced with production by True Ames back in 2000 after countless hours spent listening to fin guru, George Greenough, talk about flex…in relation to our common background of surfing and windsurfing…and, more recently with Curtis Hesselgrave on SUP fins…we now have production with sustainable bamboo cores from Rainbow Fins…
Stay tuned as we have a number of new models and a full accessory line coming down the pipe…

When it comes to innovation and board construction technological advances…one company stands apart…Starboard…the world leader in board construction…
Some companies who have only been around for a couple of years are starting to play around with wood and sandwich board construction…why pay for their R&D?
Starboard has been producing the most durable sailboards in the world for over 15 years…sailboards are under way more stress than conventional surfboards…they have to survive speeds of up to 50mph…and jumps/loops to 50′…

Developed by Jean Louis Colmas in 1984, Wood Technology became Starboard’s trademark construction since 1995. Starboard’s production Wood boards then set the lead in lightweight sandwich technology, weighing in at a kilo under the competition, yet with higher impact resistance.
A sheet of 0.6 mm Australian pine wood forms the full outer shell of the board. Wood’s unique properties are its natural rigidity, superior resistance to compression and higher energy absorption compared to carbon. It is the construction with the highest dynamic shape stability.
Click image to enlarge…

In the continuing effort to reduce weight and increase performance without loss of durability, Starboard is once again leading the way with the new wood/carbon technology…
A combination of a wood spine with ultra light, flat-weave carbon. The first board construction in the world to utilize an ultra light carbon fiber that is flat-weaved for total mechanical efficiency at half the specific weight.

I just received a new Starboard quadfin waveboard with this wood/carbon technology…
IT’S INSANELY LIGHT!!!

I expect this technology to trickle down to the Starboard SUP line…there is ongoing osmosis between the SUP line and sailboard line…this quadfin sailboard progressed because of the quadfin SUP’s that Starboard has dialed in…
The World’s first Quad fin wave boards – more drive, more traction, the ability to generate more speed on the wave face, turn closer and tighter, ride more vertical with the ability to go where you want, when you want. When going out through waves, the Quads also help you to stay upwind better than single or twin fin boards, thus positioning you to catch more waves.
The Quad wave concept was born 2 years ago when Svein Rasmussen and Scott McKercher first started working with Quad fin setups on wave SUP boards, initially with single fin setups to thrusters and finally Quad fins. The unique fin size combination, with the larger fin in front and the smaller fin behind, as well as the exact fin box positioning, the fin foil/stiffness ratio and the fin box selection were the key in making the Quad concept work.
Quad action vid clip:

Quad technical discussion vid clip:

Scott McKercher: Something that I felt has been missing in wave boards is the ability to produce drive through the fins like a surf board. Singles and twins were all about the containment of speed and not the production of drive. The new Quads deliver the perfect blend of a smooth arc length when desired, combined with lightning acceleration through tight on rail snaps.

Svein Rasmussen: Experimenting with Quads has totally renewed my interest in wave sailing.
Tiesda You: For progressing wave riders who thought the Evo was a breakthrough in 2003, well the Quads are again another leap forward. On a wave face, they really do go where you want, when you want and then they’ll even generate more speed as you drive them through turns. Unbelievable stuff.
Question to Svein: is the Quad an innovation? “Some 12 years ago, our production Twister twin fin board was available worldwide, then suddenly in 2008 the twin fin concept was viewed as an innovation. Now in 2009 Starboard brings into production a totally refined Quad fin board and if bringing back twin fins in 2008 was viewed an innovation , then b
ringing in Quads in 2009 is truly an innovation which actually brings something NEW to wavesailing.”

The 2009 North American Naish Summer Race Series Championship was held at Bonita Cove in San Diego yesterday…
The SUPsports paddle racing team did very well…
Rich Schroeder wins the event and a 14′ Naish Glide…plus, a trip to Maui and an entry into the 5th Annual Naish Paddle Championship…a 9.54 mile race from Maliko Gulch…NICE WORK!!!

Adam Kirkcaldie, our newest staff member, takes 3rd…Adam is just getting going in paddle racing and is already showing great potential with his triathlete background…

Rob Graham takes 4th…he’ll be moving up to the 14′ class…

EJ came down and raced in the open class taking 1st…his new 23″ wide Syzmanski worked great…

Brian Syzmanski…fierce prone paddleboarder…now piloting his standup creations…

Team rider, Andie Johnson, took 2nd place in the women’s championship race…not bad for racing a new board and new paddle for the first time…
The board did feel very nice and stable for 25″ width…

Prone paddleboarder Matt Friedman transitioning to standup paddle racing on one of Brian’s new shapes…

Who da guy?…;-)

They’re not all going to Maui with a free 14′ Glide…but, they’re a bunch of STOKED units, nonetheless!!!

EJ and MJ…two of my favorite humans on this planet…

Mucho mahalos to Naish for getting this classic grass roots event off the ground…
I’ll have a gallery up in the next day or two…or whenever this killer swell dies down…;-)

Just got the new 8’5″ x 28″ Starboard Tikis…

Waterkids, Connor Baxter and Zane Schweitzer have developed a board shape to suit their style and body size. The 8’5” x 28” is designed for waterkids looking for a quick learning curve.
It’s front section provides stability for paddling through the waves and the more stinger aft section offers acceleration, speed and rail to rail response. Despite its short length, it glides well on flat waters for light riders.
It’s tri fin set up provides plenty of directional stability to enjoy gliding down the rivers and over the lakes anywhere any time. It also rips behind a boat or on the Cable park. (MSRP $949)
