In between all of the exciting “goings on” around the shop and warehouse lately…we found a little bit of time to build board racks and throw some paint on the walls around our outside patio and shop expansion project…still a work in progress…but, we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel…we’ll prolly host a BBQ and patio warming event after our next demo…tentatively planned for the next “Indian Summer” weekend…
Mahalo to Martin, Frank, Deb, Guy, John, Janet ,Jason…and, others that helped us put this project to bed…we’re movin’ on…& movin’ up…

Hoping everyone has a happy, and safe, 4th of July weekend…
The shipping dock at our paddleboard warehouse has been pretty busy lately with new boards heading outbound to their adopted parents in Eureka, Encinitas, Lake Arrowhead, Lake Tahoe, SF Bay Area, Alaska, Illinois, Connecticut, North Carolina, Maine , and Florida…to name a few…plus, we’ve had a rush of folks from in, and out of the area, picking out boards in the showroom to enjoy the incredible July 4th weekend on tap with their friends and families…
Bakersfield, Arroyo Grande, Camarillo, Ventura, Los Angeles, Hermosa Beach…plus, our loyal and new clients in Santa Barbara, Montecito, Lompoc, Carpinteria, and Goleta…
Hot days and comfy water temps has really got Summer for our STOKED CUSTOMERS cranked up into SUP overdrive!!!
PBR at SUP Sports all 4th of July weekend…should be the perfect Summer accoutrement when you come in to shop after playing in 65* water with 82* air temps…

We have the lowest re-gifting ratio of any SUP company in the universe…
As you can well imagine…things have been in high gear around our adult toy store this holiday season…;-)
Lots of boards going to Florida and other sunbelt states…lots of folks driving in from out of state…and, from counties all over California to pick up that perfect gift…

Dozens of boards and paddles flying out of the door these last few daze…in addition to folks driving from near and far to pick up new standup paddleboards at our paddleboard warehouse and showroom here in beautiful Santa Barbara, we’re also doing SUP deliveries down at the harbor for folks just pulling in to provision their boats for further SUP adventures out at the Channel Islands, and onward to mainland Mexico and beyond…

The consumer confidence index is up in Washington, DC…and, all across this country…at least, in regards to SUP and staycations…
We had a family visit our shop recently to pick out a quiver of SUP’s to ship back to their home in Washington, DC for use on the Potomac River…
This is nothing new to us…as we’ve been shipping standup paddle boards to both sides of the aisle in our nation’s capitol for years…
You definitely can’t judge a book by it’s cover…people of ALL political persuasions LOVE standup paddling…;-)
We customized a dry bag carrying system for this gorgeous wood Starboard SUP…
A lot of work goes into board and paddle shipment preparation…but, our shipping department is the best in the SUP business…
Our VP/CFO takes her job seriously…she’s running back into the shop to do a last minute check of the pick list for this order…
Making progress on the shipment…in between selling another half dozen boards, and setting them up for our local walk-in clients and out of county travelers…it was a busy day yesterday…but, we’re not complaining….keep it coming…;-)
All crated up for the cross-country journey to the land of the founding fathers…
Rumor has it that President Obama has enjoyed standup paddling on one of his trips back to Hawaii…who knows…maybe he’ll bring a little island style SUP aloha back to the White House…and, spread the SUP love all over the world…one can only dream…NO FORKS…NO NUKES…;-)

Just received a new shipment of the beautiful all wood veneer Terje Haakonsen (TAC) models by Starboard…these boards have the full exposed rail wrap of wood…quite a bit more skill and labor than just painting the rails…Coreban is the only other production company doing them…
It’s all good with all wood…;-)
Deb…the hardest working VP/CFO in the SUP industry…gettin’ ‘er done!
Whether it’s managing the company finances, ordering products, educating clients, managing personnel, teaching lessons, shipping boards, taking orders over the phone, or being on the sales floor…Deb always grabs the bull by the horns…I know…I’m married to her…;-)

One of the coolest things about our shop are our clients that we get to meet in person…what’s also cool is that oftentimes, we do get to meet the folks that we ship boards to across the country as they visit our fair city…in fact, we have some coming out from Minnesota in a few days…to chill out and/or cool off as the case may be…what’s a heat wave?…;-)
We had the opportunity to work with the Macias ohana from Los Angeles County yesterday…hooking them all up with SUP’s…the family that paddles together…stays together…;-)
We’re stoked that they found us online after getting frustrated shopping around at fluffy clothing boutiques trying to pass themselves off as SUP stores and surf shops…(BUZZKILL)…these poser SUP shops are staffed by narcissistic airheads with “cool guy” attitudes that don’t care, because to them, updating their Facebook profiles on their laptops covered with stickers is way more important than helping you…

We kinda lost track of all of the boards and paddles flying out of our doors this weekend…it’s been nutzo…and, I know that Diane from Ventura County is going to be at the shop in a half hour when we open, to buy a board and paddle…so, again we want to thank everyone for trusting in our little mom and pop SUP shop that cares enough to get them the right gear…the first time…EVERYTIME…Mahalo…

We sure have been getting lots of calls from folks all over the country that have gotten tired of waiting for boards and paddles that they have had on order…we call these phantom boards…;-)
