Santa Barbara Cold Current Race 2011

Several hundred people came out on a gorgeous Santa Barbara Spring Saturday to be a part of the 2011 Santa barbara Cold Current Race…the 1st leg of the 4 race California Downwind Race Series…

This 9 miler started at Goleta Beach and ended at Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara…

Thomas (MAXIMUS) Shahinian was this year’s overall winner…

159 of the 175 entrants completed the grueling 9 miles of paddling!

K38 Water Safety provided the water rescue support staff using 4 Kawasaki Jet Skis and K38 Rescue boards.

The charity for this event was the Phoenix Patriot Foundation.
