SUP Adventures : Santa Barbara

We had a great group of folks who played hookie from work yesterday to go out to our beautiful Channel Islands with us for a SUP adventure day trip

Many people have seen the vid clip I put up online of Lori R. being the first person to standup paddle inside of the famous Painted Cave on Santa Cruz Island…so this group was game to also experience this unique adventure…

Loaded up with watertoys leaving Santa Barbara harbor…

A look at the main attraction…Painted Cave…

We motored down the coastline a bit to a nice cove…anchored up and we’ll paddle back up to the cave…

The paddle up the coast was challenging…but, everyone made it…

Guy and Carrie entering the cave…

SPOOKY!!!…

The sun came out making for some cool lighting effects…

Graham, the skipper of the Truth…his 1st time on a SUP…he was a natural…

The visibility is great in the clear water…

Dawn Schroeder…dreamy effect…

Sharon getting a closer look at the sea life…

After a great lunch by chef Dennis…it was time to start packing up the 23 SUP’s for the ride back across the channel…

Miles of smiles…great way to spend a Friday…mini-staycation…what were you doing?…;-)

We have already started a list of interested standup paddlers for a multi-day trip / staycation exploring the Channel Islands for more SUP adventures…35 paddlers…a naturalist onboard…comfy bunks…hot showers…food provided…BYOB…
