HandiRack to the Rescue
We had a client show up yesterday at the shop who had just moved over from Maui, and was having SUP withdrawals…only problem was he showed up in his Toyota Prius…with his spouse and without a rack…
No worries…in a few minutes we had him outfitted with a new Starboard 11’2″ “Ultimate Blend” thanks to HandiRack…the world’s first inflatable car rack…
Designed for rugged outdoor use in Australia, the award winning HandiRack is a unique, multi purpose, portable load carrier. It provides an amazingly easy means to transport all manner of loads from ladders to kayaks, surf boards to flat-pack furniture. Not only is the HandiRack simple to use, but being inflatable means that when not in use it is very compact and can be easily stored in the boot of the car or on a shelf in the garage.
The HandiRack is immensely strong (it has a patented triple-layer skin), totally safe, complies with ISO/PAS 11154 and couldn’t be easier to assemble. The straps pass through the car doors and the bars inflate in a matter of seconds using the supplied HandiPump. The HandiRack can carry loads of up to 80kg (subject to individual vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations) and is suitable for 4-door and 2-door cars.
Scratches will no longer be a problem with this inflatable roof rack. It straps around the roof through the windows making it a universal fit. Each HandiRack twin tube features five metal D-ring tie-down points to secure anything from kayaks to surf boards weighing 180 lbs. and under. Two 10-ft. cam buckle straps help secure your cargo on the HandiRack carrier. The rugged three-ply 420-denier reinforced nylon tube structure takes only seconds to inflate with the included 1,000cc double-action HandiPump. Once deflated, the roof rack can be rolled up, placed inside the travel bag and stored away in the trunk when not in use.

BTW, we’ve easily handled another client who showed up in his Prius without a rack, and without a spouse…simply insert 10′ SUP in Prius and done…
