Imagine ECO Chopper 7'11" SUP

Master boardshaper and Olympic kayaker, Corran Addison, has just applied what he’s been doing to kayak shapes for years, to waveriding SUP’s…which has resulted in increased stability…

The “sidewall” (or rail) of the board has been “squared off” and given “flair” while thickened from the nose through the center of the board. This adds significant secondary stability, and also reduces deck wash (which trips you). At the same time, the center of gravity has been reduced by lowering the foot area, and control and “hold” increased by adding slight lips to the outside of the foot area, while finally increasing nose rocker. The end result is a very stable, and agile board that can paddle out, up and over, anything the ocean has to throw at you.

In tests that they’ve done, they were able to paddle out through surf twice as big as comparable normal shaped SUP’s. Obviously, once you’re out there, you want your board to perform, and the Chopper does. But, it has to be ridden like a shortboard – from the tail! The rail, and bottom, from the center back is like any performance shortboard, and this will perform with anything on the SUP high performance market…

Here’s a few shots of the new 7’11” x 29″ Chopper…it will also come in an 8’6″ x 30″ model…as well as a 7’6″ x 28″ model…
